I have a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management and I am now continuing my study at the University of Technology of Eindhoven.

Quality Control Research Graduation Internship
During my graduation internship I conducted a research focused on product documentation quality at Vanderlande. I worked together with the Quality Assurance department and the New Product department to help improve the effectiveness in product documentation with new launches.

Quality Control Research Graduation Internship
During this internship I conducted a research focused on quality control at VGE B.V. The current process was analysed and the expected problem was confirmed. Several improvement ideas were presented towards VGE to improve their Quality Control methods and administration.
VGE B.V. mainly manufactures water cleaning installations, that rid water of bacteria by using UV-C light. The company deals in a variety of UV-C purification applications in pools, pond, and industrial markets.

During my final year of my study I conducted a research focused internship at Sunrise Medical.
This research was a group project with three other students from Industrial Engineering, all in our final year. Sunrise Medical manufactures wheelchairs, both hand-driven and electrical. The wheelchairs are sold through dealers from all around the globe, Sunrise Medical also has a lot of local headquarters in more than 20 countries.
The global supply chain of Sunrise Medical was affected by international delays in shipping from China. Our research analysed the effects of nearshoring and the effects of reducing the amount of yearly shipping containers by relocating some manufacturing processes from China to Helmond.

During the second half of the third year of my study I conducted a research focused internship at De Wit Schijndel. During my internship I analysed the flow of supply between the local warehouse and the store location. A set of three scenarios was presented towards the company, each with the expted effects on several KPI's.
De Wit Schijndel is one of the main sellers of camping equipment and garden furniture in the Netherlands. With only one physical store and a online webshop they are able to attract thousands of customers on weekly basis.

During a half year hiatus from my study of Industrial Engineering I pursued a minor in sport focused pedagogy courses.
During this half year several activities were organised at my own Hockey Club, SMHC De Hopbel. All were focused on pedagogy related subjects, like improving team spirit and communication with athletes.

Research Internship focused on customer needs
During my second year, me and a group of five other students researched the quality of customer service at Verhoeven Grondverzetmachines B.V.
To get results we questioned and interviewed a number of customers and all asked them the same questions in a set pattern. The answers were coded and analysed to see in what areas Verhoeven could improve.

Since early 2019, I have been the head trainer of the youth goalkeepers and some senior goalkeepers at SMHC De Hopbel. A weekly training during the season was given by me and an assistant trainer, for me it was often two evenings a week of training goalies.
From September 2020 to early 2022, I was the main coach of the JC1 team at SMHC De Hopbel. In that period, the team moved on to be the JB1 and I moved with them.

What is an Industrial Engineer?

Industrial Engineers are concerned with the optimization of processes, systems and organizations.

Using people, money, knowledge, information and equipment Industrial Engineers can develop a coherent system within a company. The development of such systems can improve a variety of internal performances within the organization.

Most companies and organizations are stuck in a rhythm. Breaking the wheel is increasingly difficult the longer you are present within the organization. Getting stuck in the proces flow and accepting it's flaws can lessen the potential of the organization. During the educational part of an Industrial Engineers, we experience the feeling is joining a new company and defining the organisation and it processes five times.

Most departments focus on their own problems with an existing proces or functionality within an organization. An Industrial Engineer can help with expanding their point of view to ensure that all affected departments are included in the process, even if an organization has already chosen and developed a new proces or is updating an existing one. The root cause of a problem provides the most information on what is wrong and what has caused the problem, then a solution can be designed.
